My first Fly fishing trip...Loch Finlas

Hi All
The weather today was mental for March.... so warm....  Ha, as if I know what March weather should be like..I'm a pup remember....I just listen to what Colin and Meg say......(sometimes)
Canada Geese on the water, I can hardly chase them can I?..

We disturbed this pair of geese as we walked down to loch Finlas.

I can here a dog barking....
The birds know to get out my way. I can see 4 folk and a dog farther down the loch, they're so noisy.

So this is fly fishing..... and this is a brown trout, sit still so I can see u properly!

This fish is green, it's a green trout.. oops
I stand corrected.. Meg informs me it's locally called a 'yella belly,' a Finlas Yella Belly but It is a Brown Trout...I'm confused! Is it a Brown, Green or Yella trout.....this should be easier.

I bet it went under this rock..

He let it go......

Note the blade of grass..he'll never learn.

Meg and me sharing tattie soup and bread.

I like this fishing lark...I get out all afternoon..

I want to fish Enoch.....'Colin made me say that Meg'
Over and out for now...

Green Hill.....

Looks rubbish doesn't it?

Hello all....Pip here.
When I heard we were going to Green Hill this morning, I thought....great, every hill I've been to is green.. but, this was superb.

I chased my first butterfly, I chased my first fly and I got checked for chasing a Bee, I Will get one of those annoying buggers, I'll just make sure it's when Colin and Meg aren't watching me!

I spotted 3 Roe Deer...a Buck and 2 Doe's.....Colin thought the females were called Hinds and the male a Stag...that's how much he knows!
  Buck
2 Doe's
All 3 making a slow exit.
Let me at them..

I thought this was a rabbit hole but Meg said it was probably a fox hole.

Look at me!

Meg and me on the Summit of Green Hill with Corbie Craig's in the background.

I look like a hand puppet here....sausages!!!

I'm not tired.....honest!

I just wish Colin would put that camera away...

I found a Badger Set, Meg warned me not to go
down any of the holes or I'd get a kicking, what's a badger when it's at home? I'm sure I could take one....

So, that was Green Hill, lots of new animal smells for me to get to grips with...

Pip Pip for now....

Straiton Memorial

Hi All,
Pip Here again....
Looks Like Meg is trying to hang me here!

This was a good walk today I'd great fun, I even managed to lick Colin's camera lens without him knowing, rubbish photos again for him...class!!
This was a steeper walk today, OK for me but the other two puffed and panted right to the top..
Steep init!

Look at this staged photo, they made me eat this bit of grass, who do you complain to.....

Me taking a maddy half way up the hill.

I'm too fast for you....

You brought me up here for this?

Looking back towards Dalmellington, we'll walk this in the summer.

I must admit I'm a wee bit tired by this point..we're half way down.

This is the monument in the distance, It took us an hour or so to walk up and down,

I think I heard them say it's to be a walk up Loch Doon tomorrow....yippeeee!

Bye for now..Pip Pip.

My first Glentrool walk

Hi all,
A quick introduction....

My name is Pip, I'm 8 months old and I'm a Border Terrier.

I got my first Glentrool walk today, It was fantastic......well, apart from Colin falling out with an old man because I dirtied his 'breeches'....I only wanted a clap!
Once I've had a sleep I'll tell you about my day and show you the photos Colin and Margaret took, Colin's are crap so don't expect too much from him, and anyway, I tried to turn my bum to the cameras all day just to annoy them both.....I think I succeeded!
Bye for now...Pip

1 Hour later.......

OK, I'm all refreshed, lets see if I can get any usable photos of my day...I won't hold my breath!

Colin and Meg decided we'd walk to Culsharg bothy, this is on the way to the Merrick Hill which is the highest hill in the area, apparently I'm too wee to walk as far as the Merrick..so they say.
On the way up...
The bothy is getting done up, maybe I'll get to sleep in it in the future..

This is as far as I was allowed to go...the Montane marker. They said it was far enough for an 8 month old, I think they were too tired to continue and used me as an excuse to stop.

Colin caught me off guard and actually managed a nice photo...
I told you they couldn't take photos...
Here's me doing my sit down protest at the end of the walk.....only, I was wrong!
They decided to try out their new stove in the Oak forest by Loch Trool, they boiled water for their powdered soup (smelled crap) I was left with dried biscuits, look at this stupid photo of me, I think they try it !!
I got my own back.........tongue right in Colin's mouth, and he thinks I can look silly..RESULT!

Both Meg and Colin insisted I stand and pose here..apparently the Glenhead lochs sit somewhere in the background.......that will be a walk for the summer I hope......I'll keep you posted.
All 3 of us....
Happy birthday Colin, and until next time.Pip Pip
