A Big dog's walk to Loch Enoch

Hi all,
It's been a while, I've been busy, growing up!

This was my first grown up walk, Colin and Margaret decided to walk to Loch Enoch in Glentrool. They've waited patiently for me to get old enough..

Glentrool Car park

We were aiming to walk the Rig of Loch Enoch.  This meant a really steep start to the climb up Black Gairy then Buchan Hill... I managed it fine, I'm as fit as a flee!
Buchan Hill
Half way up.
I'm always jumping onto rocks to look around, that's because I'm a short arse, so Meg says.

On top of Buchan Hill
Rig Of Loch Enoch

The walk so far was quite good, I chased the odd sky lark and played hide and seek with Colin, he hates not knowing where I am in the middle of the hills, drives him nuts....

A Young Golden Eagle

The weather turned really bad when we reached the Grey Man of The Merrick, horrendous rain, dangerously thick fog. Colin decided to abort fishing and head down to lower ground...

I hate RAIN!!
Enoch, between banks of Fog
Loch Valley and Meg into a fish
By the time we reached Valley the bad weather was left way back at Enoch on higher ground.

Ha, this is what we came for.... If only it would stay still!

Nearly back at the car, that's the Gairland burn behind me.... I'm really tired now..

Can't wait until I'm an older dog so I can walk everywhere....

On Holiday

Georgie, Me and Meg

Hi all,
I went on my first holiday recently, way up North to Lairg in Sutherland.
I'm a bit scared
This was my first time in a boat, I was a bit scared but got used to it quite quickly..
I'll be trout spotter for Meg

I didn't know Colin took this photo

I lay here and watched for ducks coming ashore, they got short shift!
Our Caravan was this close to Wee Shin and the ducks.....
A view of Wee Shin and War memorial
Colin and Meg took me this walk twice a day.....

Colin was watching Black Throated divers, All I saw was two more stupid birds!
watching for ducks and watching for divers!

It's hard work this holiday caper...

We all had a great wee break in Lairg, we even managed some nice pub lunches, where I was centre of attention, as usual!!!

Walk to Backhill of Bush Bothy.

Hi All,
We went a walk to the Backhill of Bush today... what a hard day!

Snib Hill, Craignaw and the Dungeon Hill.
The above photo is about half way to the Bush... I'd much prefer to have walked on the hill because this road is sore on my paws. However, Colin said the walking was too difficult in the valley..and the Silver Flowe was dangerous!

So....this is the Backhill of The Bush..it took us 1 1/2 hours to walk in to it. Meg and Colin expected to find young folk in the bothy from local villages with it being Easter weekend.. However we found a really nice family and a crazy wee dug that wanted a fight with me...I used up lots of energy because of Jack the lad...

That's curry being made.. note the Christmas Tree...
Jack and me having a wee go..

Holey Moley, I wasn't expecting that..

It wasn't a fair fight, I'd walked for  ages.... but I got him back!

I was a wee bit tired
Colin and Meg were heading for the Dungeon lochs because they were trying to meet up with Willy, a friend of theirs, he was camping there with family...Colin decided in his wisdom to follow quad tracks across the Silver Flowe and sure enough we ended up in boggy ground and had to turn back....

Nick of the Dungeon and Dungeon Hill, me and Meg

We turned back at this point......I nearly forgot to mention this stupid, stupid, harness they bought me..I look like a plonker..I rolled in a poo yesterday as a protest but low and behold they put it back on me today...

Nearing the end of the walk
That was a long walk, It took us 5 hours... I even had to get Colin to type my blog tonight....because I'm sleeping..hee hee!!

My first Fly fishing trip...Loch Finlas

Hi All
The weather today was mental for March.... so warm....  Ha, as if I know what March weather should be like..I'm a pup remember....I just listen to what Colin and Meg say......(sometimes)
Canada Geese on the water, I can hardly chase them can I?..

We disturbed this pair of geese as we walked down to loch Finlas.

I can here a dog barking....
The birds know to get out my way. I can see 4 folk and a dog farther down the loch, they're so noisy.

So this is fly fishing..... and this is a brown trout, sit still so I can see u properly!

This fish is green, it's a green trout.. oops
I stand corrected.. Meg informs me it's locally called a 'yella belly,' a Finlas Yella Belly but It is a Brown Trout...I'm confused! Is it a Brown, Green or Yella trout.....this should be easier.

I bet it went under this rock..

He let it go......

Note the blade of grass..he'll never learn.

Meg and me sharing tattie soup and bread.

I like this fishing lark...I get out all afternoon..

I want to fish Enoch.....'Colin made me say that Meg'
Over and out for now...

Green Hill.....

Looks rubbish doesn't it?

Hello all....Pip here.
When I heard we were going to Green Hill this morning, I thought....great, every hill I've been to is green.. but, this was superb.

I chased my first butterfly, I chased my first fly and I got checked for chasing a Bee, I Will get one of those annoying buggers, I'll just make sure it's when Colin and Meg aren't watching me!

I spotted 3 Roe Deer...a Buck and 2 Doe's.....Colin thought the females were called Hinds and the male a Stag...that's how much he knows!
  Buck
2 Doe's
All 3 making a slow exit.
Let me at them..

I thought this was a rabbit hole but Meg said it was probably a fox hole.

Look at me!

Meg and me on the Summit of Green Hill with Corbie Craig's in the background.

I look like a hand puppet here....sausages!!!

I'm not tired.....honest!

I just wish Colin would put that camera away...

I found a Badger Set, Meg warned me not to go
down any of the holes or I'd get a kicking, what's a badger when it's at home? I'm sure I could take one....

So, that was Green Hill, lots of new animal smells for me to get to grips with...

Straiton Memorial

Hi All,
Pip Here again....
Looks Like Meg is trying to hang me here!

This was a good walk today I'd great fun, I even managed to lick Colin's camera lens without him knowing, rubbish photos again for him...class!!
This was a steeper walk today, OK for me but the other two puffed and panted right to the top..
Steep init!

Look at this staged photo, they made me eat this bit of grass, who do you complain to.....

Me taking a maddy half way up the hill.

I'm too fast for you....

You brought me up here for this?

Looking back towards Dalmellington, we'll walk this in the summer.

I must admit I'm a wee bit tired by this point..we're half way down.

This is the monument in the distance, It took us an hour or so to walk up and down,

I think I heard them say it's to be a walk up Loch Doon tomorrow....yippeeee!

Bye for now..Pip Pip.
